Engineered C profile
UltraMEZZ® (engineered C profile) is an innovative mezzanine floor beam system, taking performance, design simplicity and speed of project turnaround to impressive levels.
For mezzanine platforms and other flooring applications, the Hadley UltraMEZZ® System uses our UltraBEAM® cold roll-formed sections. Manufactured from pre-galvanized structural grade steel, UltraBEAM sections are pre-punched, precision cut and individually marked to match our customer’s specifications.
First launched in 1995, this unique mezzanine floor beam design has since been refined to enhance its performance and deliver a lighter, stronger solution, with simple installation.

To suit a variety of applications, Hadley UltraMEZZ® is available in three systems:
Inset Systems – for maximising headroom
Top Cleat System – for providing opportunity for efficient double spans
Flange Fixed System – for simplifying refurbishment projects
Choosing the right floor beam sections is made simple with HADLEY Design Suite Pro, available FREE upon request. Its advanced features enable customers and specifiers to quickly select beams, and create, save, and manage mezzanine floor design projects, all while ensuring compliance with British and European standards.

The HADLEY UltraMEZZ® System incorporates MFS and MFL inset cleats, allowing for a variety of supporting beam sizes. These inset cleats also enable designers to use UltraMEZZ® beams of varying depths on opposite sides of the primary beam. Find allowable joist combinations on page 2 of the UltraMEZZ brochure.
Due to its engineered profile, the floor beam system – produced from pre-galvanized, high tensile 450MPa yield steel – offers a lighter solution, without compromising performance. As a result, the efficiency of design makes the UltraMEZZ® profile a competitive solution with significant benefits in weight and span.
Key features:
- Compliant with latest Eurocode 3 and BS EN 5950-5
- UKCA and CE marked UltraMEZZ® profiles
- In accordance with BS EN 1993-1-3
FAQs
What is a mezzanine floor?
A mezzanine floor is an intermediate level built between the main floors of a building, which provides additional space without extending the overall structure. Mezzanine levels are commonly used in warehouses, offices, and retail environments to maximise usable space in an efficient way.
Our UltraMEZZ® mezzanine floor systems are designed with cold-rolled steel components, offering cost-effective and easy-to-install solutions for expanding floor space. How can I plan a mezzanine floor?
Planning a mezzanine floor requires careful consideration of load capacity, space utilisation, and compliance with building regulations. Key factors include the intended use, headroom, access points, fire safety and overall structural integrity.
With our Design Suite PRO the planning process is simplified. By providing advanced design and calculation tools for purlin, side rail and mezzanine systems, this software allows you to create optimised, fully compliant solutions with precision, reducing material waste and installation time. Whether you’re planning a mezzanine for industrial, commercial or retail use, Design Suite PRO ensures efficiency, reliability and ease of integration with Hadley’s high-strength cold-rolled steel systems. Why choose cold-rolled purlin, side rail and mezzanine systems?
Cold-rolled steel purlins, side rails and mezzanine systems provide key advantages over traditional hot-rolled alternatives. For instance, cold-rolled components are lighter yet strong, making transportation and installation easier and more cost-effective.
Hadley’s cold roll forming technology delivers engineered components that enhance structural integrity, improve load distribution, and reduce material waste. Our systems are also designed for easy integration, customisation, and compliance with industry standards, ensuring a reliable and long-lasting solution for various construction needs.
