Cleaning Supervisor

JOB DESCRIPTION
As Cleaning Supervisor, the ideal candidate will be required to oversee a cleaning team across three sites, ensuring that processes, procedures and cleaning standards are adhered to the highest possible standard.
JOB DETAILS
OPERATIONS
- Lead and manage a team of cleaning staff.
- Flexible working arrangements in accordance to business commitments.
- Set up a robust consistent cleaning plan ensuring all standards are replicated.
- Provide training and support to new and existing staff.
- Support during AL / Sickness and provider cover if required.
- Complete a regular audit on cleaning standards of all areas and document.
- Deliver yearly performance reviews.
- Lead on deep cleaning exercises.
- Lead the way for all waste to correctly disposed.
- Stock and inventory checks on cleaning consumables.
- Handling heavy equipment to perform duties e.g scrubber driers.
- Ensure the team always comply to H&S requireements.
- Work with the wider business on LEAN practices with UFS.
- Support on permit applications.
REPORTS
- Complete monthly audit on standards and report back.
- Complete incident forms in as much detail as possible.
- Complete a record of all handovers for supervisors (where applicable)
- Report on successes and risks to line manager.
ACTIONS
- Check all areas are regularly cleaning and disinfected with adequate stock areas.
- Coordinate daily / weekly / yearly operational duties.
- In the event of an emergency or serious incident contact security / line manager.
- Ensuring all walkways are clear and free of signs to allow free means of entry / escape.
- All team to complete mandatory eLearning modules yearly.
MONITORING
- Ensure full compliance with relevant health & safety regulations.
- Ensure external areas are free of rubbish.
- Mornings / Afternoons & Evening shifts to be managed (occasional weekends)
- Keep all areas clean and tidy,
- Ensure staff sign in/out accurately.
- Building defects to be reported to the UFS helpdesk.
- Any other duties within the job holders capability
PERSONAL QUALITIES
- Excellent communication skills: Clear ability to communicate and write reports ensuring adequate handovers to the next team.
- People management skills: able to deal with challenging circumstances, issue warnings etc..
- Problem solving skills: must possess the ability to think critically and report to line manager (if required).
- Observation skills: Keen attention to detail, identifying risks and reporting.
- IT literate: must be able to work on MS word, excel for reporting.
- Physical fitness: Good physical condition to handle daily duties.
- Time management: ability to prioritise tasks and manage time effectively.
- Reliability: To work independently or part of a team to complete tasks.
- Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS
- Requirement to travel to each location all based within the West Midlands.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS
- Previous experience in supervising / managing a team.
- GCSE or equivalent in English, Maths and IT
- H&S (First Aider) Qualifications advantageous.
- IOSH (Preferred).
- Control of Substances Hazardous to Health – COSHH (not essential).
- BIC Qualification (Preferred)
EXPERIENCE
- Minimum 1 years’ experience in a similar environment.
