HR Apprentice
LOCATION: Smethwick
JOB DESCRIPTION
This is an excellent opportunity for an individual looking to launch their career in HR and gain valuable hands-on experience in a supportive and fast-paced environment. As an HR Apprentice, you will play a crucial role in providing administrative support and contributing to various HR functions, while working towards achieving a recognised HR qualification.
THE ROLE
Administrative Support:
- Assist with the preparation and maintenance of HR documentation, including employee records, contracts, and policies.
- Manage and respond to HR-related inquiries from employees and external parties via email, phone, and in person.
- Organize and schedule meetings, interviews, and training sessions.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date HR databases and systems.
- Assist with the onboarding and offboarding processes, including preparing new starter packs and conducting exit interviews.
- Prepare reports and presentations as required.
Recruitment & Selection:
- Assist with the posting of job advertisements on various platforms.
- Screen applications and CVs, and schedule interviews.
- Support the recruitment process by coordinating interviews and providing feedback to candidates.
- Assist with background checks and reference checks.
Employee Relations:
- Provide support in handling employee queries and concerns.
- Assist in the administration of employee benefits and programs.
- Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
Learning & Development:
- Assist in the coordination of training and development activities.
- Maintain training records and track employee progress.
- Help to organize and promote internal training.
Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with relevant employment laws and regulations.
- Assist in the maintenance of HR policies and procedures.
- Assist with audits and compliance checks.
Apprenticeship Responsibilities:
- Actively participate in the apprenticeship training program and complete all required coursework.
- Maintain a portfolio of evidence to demonstrate your learning and development.
- Attend regular meetings with your apprenticeship provider and internal mentor.
THE CANDIDATE
Education and Qualifications
- GCSE in Maths and English
- Educated to A Level or equivalent
Travel
- Between UK Sites.
- Full UK Driving license is preferred, with any offences declared to the company.
Languages: Essential: Fluency in English
